SAVE THE FUTURE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Save The future Community School village Mohammad Sharif Sahto Taluka Shahdadpur District Sanghar, Pakistan.
This school has been started with the support of “Save The Innocents” where the Government school building was the vacant since 1995.In this school two teachers are provided by “Save The Innocents”, free books for children’s, sixteen desks, two teacher tables, two chairs. In this school the enrolment of students are 70,in which there are 47 boys and 23 girls. These all boys were not going to schools before of this school. The Parents of these children’s were engaged them in agriculture labor and livestock activities. After the incentive from “Save The Innocents”, now they are going to the school. These boys are very happy to going school. Before of this school they have no knowledge about clean of hands and teeths.They were totally unaware about their health. This time ,they use neem brush and wash their hands before eating.
These children’s are different stages of the class,.30 Boys are reading books in Urdu and have completed English alphabet and 17 are in alphabet of Urdu and 12 Girls are reading books and have completed the English alphabet and 11 are in Urdu and English alphabet Those who are reading books have remember the numbers upto 100 and those who are in alphabet have remember up to 50.they can read and write. Our 20 children’s are reading in other villages in Government schools, where the education is very poor. Now we have moved a mobilization to the parents to provide the land free of cost for new school building. Four Land owners are agreed to provide the land free of cost for school building. Need of the new building is necessary because we are interested to provide school to middle side of the villages of huge population where much more poor people live and their children’s could not reach to this school because this is too away from other villages , that is why our 20 children’s are going to other schools.
In this school Parents committee has been formed to monitor the school teachers and attendance of the children’s. This parent committee is also mobilizing the parents to send their children to school. Teachers of the school inform the Parent Committee for the absent of any boy from the school, this committee ask the reason of absence of the boy from his parent. This is very effective tool of mobilization as well as coordination between parent and teacher. By this, parents feel responsibility about the education of their little stars. This committee is also responsible to check the attendance of teachers as well as their behavior with children’s means no corporal punishment for students. In formal meeting the parents of the students shared their views:
One told us, my child always put pressure to keep the kerosene oil in the house because I read up to late night.
Some one told that my daughter always say “Sallam” on the return from school.
An old man told our children use English words in house.
In Government official meeting: Officers praised the education quality of our school which are the good indicators of success. In case of absent from the school teacher gives a letter to his parent for the absence of his child from school. Teachers have kept prize on punctuality of the school. Children’s are attending the school with happiness.
Children play local games in the school in which teachers also help them. Sport activities are necessary for the children health.
School children are also educated by President of Shadab Rural Development Organization, about the importance of trees in school as well as in their houses. Poor people could not purchase fruit for their children’s from market so the children’s are also educated to plant fruit trees in their homes with the support of parent. In school they have planted fruit trees for their fresh fruit. We give them moral lessons to respect elders always. In lectures we give knowledge to children, by education you can get rid off from poverty ,after completing your education you can get good job, you can be a doctor, engineer etc. You can help your parents to keep record of the expenses of agricultural inputs which are used by land lord.
Impact of the school on the Area.
Now the school registration process is near to complete. After this school will get legal status. We have mobilized land owners to donate land for school building. In result four land owners are agreed to provide land to us for school building.
Peoples are interested to get admission in the school but this school building is away from the other villages so there is need of new building for the convenient place.
Save The Innocent have arranged Barbar for hare cutting, by this, look of the children are in equal. It is very attractive for parents as well as other little stars who are not going to school, now they are interested to attend school.
NEED MORE ROOMS FOR NEXT YEAR.
Save The Coumminity school is opened in a two rooms of govermental building. For next year we need atleat two more rooms for our old and new students.
With the grace of Allah, one of the land owner is welling to donate his one acre (4400 sq ft) land for school building.
To build 4 rooms, a boundry around the land and a bath room, Save The Innocents needs an estimated 15,000 dollars.
