Save The Innocents Inc. is a non profit Organization
working to provide education to save innocents futures before they lost in poverty and ignorance.
Background
District Sanghar is situated in the Province of Sindh, Pakistan. It comes in the upper five, most deprived District of Sindh Province. Its population is 1.700 million amongst which 1.239 million reside in villages. 70% of those are cultivators and the rest are either feudalists (Land Lords) or engaged with other kinds of work. It has an area of 1073000 acres from which 445000 acres is being cultivated.
Child Slavery is a very important issue of this district. The reason is the increased population growth rate, poor economic conditions, illiteracy, lack of awareness and corruption.
To address the issue of child labor in District Sanghar,Sindh Save The Innocent Inc. entered into an agreement with Shadab Rural Development Organization and developed a comprehensive program to alleviate the problems of child labor, to provide quality education and to improve economic conditions, which it has identified as the root cause of child labor.
According to this agreement “Save The Innocent Inc. ” provided the funds for these programs in education and health for the betterment of Children. After several visits, “Save The Innocents” agreed on two villages, village Mohammad Sharif Sahto for school and village Ahmad Mallano for the Health Centre. To ensure enrollment and attendance for the school it provided an alternative source of income to families empowering them to be able to send their children to school instead of working in the fields due to economic necessity. The people of these and nearby villages were drinking dirty water from the canals which was unsafe for health. To decrease the econmic burden of disease for these villages, 5 hand pumps and two sweet pacca wells were constructed by Save The Innocent Inc.
