PARENT INTERVIEWS |
The 14th of February 2010 was a momentous occasion for the Save The Innocents Organization. Interviews were held to find the children who would be the first to benefit from the school. Children came with their parents and it was a busy day for the interview team. The only criterion that the children had to fulfill was that their parents were too poor to pay for their schooling.

OPENING OF THE SCHOOL |
On 7th of March, the school was officially opened. After the introduction and speeches, the children were presented with their uniforms, text and copy (exercise) books. In fact they received everything they would need for their day to day school life. There is absolutely no cost to the parents for their child’s education. It is funded entirely by SaTIn.

CLASS ROOM |
Soon afterwards the school opened with 5 teachers, 1 principal, a clerk and a maid and of course, the all important, 100 children. The school has 5 classes divided into three age groups; Kinder garden and grades 1 and 2. The children are following the private sector curriculum, as all concerned thought this best suited the children’s needs.

A PROMISE FOR FUTURE |
The work of the school has now begun in earnest, and thanks to more funding, a further 25 children have been enrolled. These 125 children are now smiling and have hope for the future. SaTIn wants to make this happen for many more children. In fact Nilofar has already promised a place for next year to a pre-school child. She is the daughter of a double amputee. This man brought his daughter to the school, in the hope that she would be given a place, to secure her a brighter future. He came on an old bike that had been adapted for him to ‘pedal’ with his hands. So determined was he to give his child a chance that he was prepared to drag himself up a flight of stairs to bring his daughter to the classroom, but Nilofar met him in the stairwell. This man works at two jobs to provide for his family’s basic needs, paying for schooling would be out of the question.
There are many more moving and deserving cases like this and with your help we can give more of these children hope for the future.
Please help SaTIn break the cycle of poverty and ignorance and give more children like these, a chance in life.
Please remember OVER 92% of your donation goes directly to help the children.
